Peter P. Greaney, M.D., President

Peter P. Greaney, M.D. is the company president of WorkCare, a national occupational health consulting firm. He is board-certified in occupational medicine and family practice and is a specialist in toxicology.

He has been formally trained in the specialty of occupational and environmental medicine at the Southern Occupational Health Center at the University of California, Irvine, where he is currently a faculty member. He is also on the clinical faculty of the University of Southern California.

Dr. Greaney has designed occupational medicine programs for a variety of companies and serves as a corporate medical director consultant to numerous national companies, ranging from biotechnology, environmental engineering, and pharmaceuticals to specialty chemical and utility companies. His service includes providing consultation in occupational medicine/toxicology, assessing potential on-site health risks, implementation of federal drug abuse detection programs and multi-site medical surveillance programs.

In 2004, Dr. Greaney was one of 10 participants selected - out of a pool of almost 200 applicant - to present at a NIOSH symposium, Steps to a Healthier US Workforce. This event was aimed at discussing how employer best practices can integrate individual worker health and healthy lifestyle promotion with protecting and improving working conditions. At the event, Dr. Greaney presented the paper, "Bridging the Gap Between Occupational and Non-occupational Medicine Practices to Improve Employee Health."

In November 2001, Dr. Greaney was recognized by NIOSH at a national workshop on Best Practices in Workplace Surveillance. He co-authored the case study "A Model Medical Surveillance Program For Persons in Hazardous Waste Operations" which demonstrates the impact of elevating medical monitoring programs to a best practice level.

Another accomplishment is his election in 2002 as the Speaker of the House of Delegates for the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, an international medical society of more than 6,000 occupational and environmental physicians.

M. Donald Whorton, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Whorton is a nationally recognized workplace epidemiology expert and has published numerous professional papers on this subject. He has over 30 years of experience in occupational health, environmental medicine, toxicology, and epidemiology. He received his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and his master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Harvard Medical Service Boston City Hospital and his residency in internal medicine at Baltimore City Hospital. He is board certified in occupational medicine and internal medicine and is an elected member of the National Academy of Science Institute of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Epidemiology. Dr. Whorton’s clients include NASA Medical Operations Branch and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories. Dr. Whorton is a certified MRO and directs our Northern California office in Alameda, California.

Robert Blink, M.D.

Dr. Blink is the newest member of our team. He is a medical director and vice president of the firm. He is a board-certified occupational medicine physician and a certified medical review officer with over 20 years of experience in occupational health. He received his master’s degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Blink trained in occupational medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He has extensive experience in providing occupational medicine care and consultation to employers and employees, including large construction projects at refineries, a steel mill, and public works projects, among many others. He also has considerable expertise on medical/legal issues, as well as occupational health expertise in the biotechnology sector. He is very familiar with both California Workers’ Compensation, including the 2004 significant regulatory changes, and OSHA 300 log issues. Dr. Blink has developed medical/toxicological surveillance programs for compliance with NIOSH/OSHA as well as the FDA, European Union and NAFTA GMP requirements.

Tanya Stout, R.N., M.L.S.

Ms. Tanya Stout is a registered nurse with more than 15 years of experience in occupational health. As chief client project coordinator for WorkCare's Northern California office, Ms. Stout has managed and coordinated medical monitoring projects for more than 20 clients. Her activities include travel health program management, interaction with clients and local medical providers at all levels, case management, disability reviews and immunizations. As a former nurse at Michael Reese Hospital School of Nursing, she designed course materials and supervised other instructors. Combining her clinical skills with her research skills as an MLS (master's degree in library science), Ms. Stout has assisted with the review of a major research facility's occupational health program and compared facilities' policies with federal and state regulations and standard industry medical monitoring practices.

Dani Newman, BSN, RN, MBA

Ms. Newman serves as clinical director, absence management programs. She is spearheading WorkCare’s expansion into the area of absence management and corporate health/productivity. Ms. Newman comes to WorkCare with over fifteen years of experience in the healthcare field. Starting her career as a staff nurse for the Navy, she has increased her expertise in healthcare management over the course of the years. She achieved her master’s degree in business administration at University of San Diego, CA, and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing while attending the University of Utah, Salt Lake City.

Pamela Maple, MBA

Ms. Maple serves as vice president of health and productivity management business development. She has over 20 years of management skills, previously serving in the claims department managing high-risk workers’ compensation claims. Her experience also includes managing the completion of regulatory filings for an occupational medicine provider group. Ms. Maple has diverse expertise in many areas of healthcare, including previous local work at St. Joseph Health System where she had the opportunity to manage key account sales and services. In this role, she also coordinated statewide sales and marketing activities for the hospital’s HMO. She achieved her master’s degree in business administration while attending University of California, Irvine.

Albert L. Wallace, C.P.A.

Mr. Wallace is WorkCare’s chief operating officer. He is a certified public accountant and also serves as chief financial officer for WorkCare. Mr. Wallace has specialized in medical group management and managed care practice administration. He has worked for and consulted with medical groups over the past 25 years. Mr. Wallace has experience in developing and implementing new programs and projects in the health care delivery field. He has a bachelor’s degree in natural science, which he earned at Johns Hopkins University. He also studied at California State University Long Beach where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is a former U.S. Army Ordinance Officer.

Paula Sandrock, B.A.

Ms. Sandrock is vice president, client relations. She has been in the health care field for 16 years and was a key player in developing WorkCare’s medical surveillance department. Ms. Sandrock’s primary responsibility is implementing all new client contracts, including coordination of systems and support staff for the clients’ needs. This capacity includes oversight of all operational, technical and customer satisfaction needs for new clients. She is also responsible for ongoing quality assurance between WorkCare and its clients as well as development of future business opportunities.

Marci Trujillo, BA

Ms. Trujillo has more than 15 years of professional experience in corporate communications. She is WorkCare’s vice president, corporate communications, and is responsible for all internal/external communication, media and community relations and strategic marketing. Her accomplishments include an award-winning presentation for an employee perception survey project in which communications strategies were attributed to its success. She manages the company’s health and safety portal web site, Osh.Net, which attracts about 30,000 users a month. She provides communications support to staff and clients through the establishment of cross-marketing programs for WorkCare and Osh.Net. Ms. Trujillo attended Cal State University, Los Angeles, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism. Her prior experience includes a position as director of corporate communications for TELACU, the second largest Hispanic-owned business in California; and communications manager for Suburban Water, a utility company serving 270,000 residents in Los Angeles County.

Molly Brenner, PT, MPA

Molly Brenner is vice president of clinical and client services. Molly is an experienced healthcare operational professional with more than 10 years of experience, ranging from occupational medicine to rehabilitation services. As a former manager of clinical operations and director of rehabilitation services for several large healthcare organizations/agencies--including Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and the County of Orange--Molly has a wealth of experience in clinical operations. Her experience includes supervising more than 20 clinical and non-clinical staff members, preparation and planning for two regulatory department audits (JCAHO), budgeting and business development. Molly has a master’s in public administration (health services), and a bachelor’s in physical therapy. She is a licensed physical therapist.

Randolph Muyargas, B.S.

Mr. Muyargas is WorkCare’s Chief Information Officer/Chief Technology Officer. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1996 from the Ateneo University of Manila where he majored in Management Engineering. He brings to the firm years of experience in the management and operation of I.T. systems and software for the health care industry. His accomplishments include the successful migration to new technologies, tools and practices to enhance operations.

Nancy Rederscheid

Ms. Rederscheid is the business manager, who has served in the healthcare field for 20 years. Her responsibilities include overseeing the accounts payable and receivable department and managing all day-to-day accounting functions. Ms. Rederscheid is responsible for contracting with our occupational medical clinics, renewing and processing more than 300 clinic contracts annually. As a previous business manager of a medical clinic, she brings to WorkCare a wealth of expertise in business administration and operations management.
